First Annual Friends to Freedom Trail—A NC Heritage Based Wagon Train/trail ride recounting the early American Quaker exodus from Perquimans County, NC which began around 1812. Two days of riding: 12 miles first day & 17 miles second day includes parade through Historic downtown Hertford. MOST OF THIS IS ROAD RIDING on very low traffic rural roads. A few miles of dirt paths on the second day. Inc: Primitive camping, two meals, nightly entertainment, historical reenactors, games & shuttle service to bring support vehicles to next campsite. Wagon route departs Fri. morning from historic Newbold-White house in Hertford via Beech Springs to Belvidere campsite; then departs Belvidere Sat. morning for Winfall where there will be a parade across the "s" bridge through downtown Hertford & then back to historic Newbold-White house. Items accepted from and offered to all disciplines of riding and all levels of riding. Closeouts from tack stores, items from barn closings and openings, all disciplines equipment for showing and training, trail riding, driving and much more. Everything related to the equestrian sport is encouraged for consignment (Consignors must be pre-registered). Receiving date (drop off your items) is Wed., Sept. 1 from 10 am-9 pm; Pick-up unsold items Tues., Sept. 7 from 10 am-4 pm (this is a no shopping day).
